Throw back Thursday …. The year was 1993 Patrick Santana was running swept away clothing store ….. He had a chance to showcase “Swept Away” in a nightclub called “Club Voo-doo” located behind The Restaurant Mangoes on the corner of Angela & Duval…. Patrick wanted people that didn’t know the Clothing Store to leave a lasting impression.. so he got together (left-right) Katrina Klein in red…La Julio, rest his soul, in the daisies and cannot remember the model in blue…but the catch was that instead of displaying fine swimsuits, athletic wear, shorts and tops….Patrick decided to construct clothing out of PAPER…yes the gowns were made of brown paper and it was a scandal! We call this a publicity stunt and it worked….we walked Duval St. from Swept Away from the 600 block to Club Voo Doo 700 block and it was a cream…the 3 models looked like top Fashion New York City models in Paper Dresses….Katrina Klein led the procession in her long sleek legs and very elegant demeanor. Patrick Santana is under-neath the Bride’s train (partially hidden) What a night to remember and that’s how fabulous VIDAL’s career has and continues to be!
